Trash collection workers face serious hazards

Residents depend on the trash pickup service to take away rubbish. What many people don't think about is that the men and women who do this job face serious risks each day while they try to get the trash collected. It is up to the refuse company to ensure that they are providing a safe work environment for these workers.

The consequences of severe depression

When people become extremely depressed, their lives may change for the worse in many different ways. They may lose friends, experience problems in their relationships with loved ones and even be unable to continue working. Depression may arise for many reasons, and can often come into someone's life over an unexpected tragedy. For example, someone may lose a spouse in a car crash or as a result of cancer, and this can bring them down to such an extent that they can barely function. Unfortunately, when someone misses work over depression they may also struggle with other problems resulting from their absence, such as financial struggles.

Establishing disability is critical for benefits to be collected

When a person is disabled to the point that he or she feels unable to complete their work-related duties, there is a chance that qualifications may be met to receive financial support from the Social Security program in California. Social Security disability benefits are awarded to people who have established adequate evidence that their medical condition is actively preventing them from being able to work or maintain a job, thus limiting their income.

Emergency responders face mental health trauma

There are many jobs that are stressful, but some have stressors that are more emotional than physical. Workers who are first responders face both mental and physical stress that can lead to mental health breakdowns that can have a negative impact on their ability to work, as well as their entire life.
