Everyone knows that the Internet is the source of more information than a single person could ever hope to assimilate. But, for our Los Angeles readers who are interested in learning more about Social Security Disability, the Social Security Administration’s website is probably one of the best sources of information. A recent article noted the usefulness of this website and attempted to inform readers about how best to go about using the site in a way that will result in the best and most useful information.
First, it is important to know that the website is easy to read and understand for a reason – it is required by law. The article notes that the website is obligated to comply with the Plain Writing Act of 2010. As such, almost anyone should be able to access the website and understand some of the crucial information someone interested in Social Security needs to know.
One of the more useful areas of the website is probably the Frequently Asked Questions section, labeled “FAQs.” This section highlights some of the most common questions that the Social Security Administration gets related to any number of areas that fall within the agency’s realm of authority. This is probably a great place to start for anyone with questions about SSA requirements for any kind of benefits, not just SSD benefits.
But, as the recent article points out, there are other useful sections of the website. The “Forms” section can give a potential applicant an idea of what type of paperwork could be involved in the process. And then the “Publications” section could give readers a more substantial look at some SSA information that both applicants and benefits recipients may need to know.
