A Brief Overview Of Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy is the result of a brain injury that occurs at birth or in early childhood. It causes limitations in muscle control and uncontrolled muscle contractions. The condition can range in severity from slight tremors to total paralysis. Many people with CP are able to work and live independently. Other times, patients must rely on family members or in-home care workers for virtually everything. A lot of cases of CP fall somewhere in between.
SSI And CP
Supplemental Security Income is a need-based federal disability benefits program. Parents of disabled children who have limited financial means may qualify for SSI benefits, as can adults who can prove their disability and their lack of financial resources to the Social Security Administration.
