Social Security disability for veterans and their loved ones

On Memorial Day, we take the time to honor our veterans and the sacrifices made by their loved ones. In serving our country, many veterans are left with severe and debilitating injuries. Veterans in California and nationwide may be eligible for Social Security disability benefits.

It is an American tradition to pay tribute to all of the men and women who are members of the Armed Forces. Each Memorial Day, we gather in parks, cemeteries, line the streets for parades and do our part to remember both our fallen heroes as well has those soldiers who have suffered from injury while fighting for our country. We know that the ultimate sacrifice can be a lifetime of pain, suffering and adjustment for our veterans and their families.

If you are a military service member who has been wounded, you may need professional assistance in applying for disability benefits. Filing appropriate paperwork and collecting relevant medical documentation can be complicated, so it is important to work with an experienced professional. This can minimize delays and ensure that your claim is filed correctly. As a veteran, you should receive expedited processing on your disability claim.

In addition to claims for veterans and disabled military members, the families of victims may also be able to file for disability benefits. "Our wounded warriors" is an initiative for military service members who have been disabled while on active duty on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability occurred. In some instances, family members, including dependent children and spouses can apply.

May is National Military Appreciation Month. Our firm is committed to helping the veterans of our California community. We understand the huge sacrifice made by veterans and their families for the safety and security of our nation.
